Add Before You Subtract
One of the biggest mistakes I used to make was trying to overhaul my entire diet overnight. I’d tell myself I couldn’t eat this or couldn’t eat that, and before long I felt deprived. Eventually I’d give in, and I’d end up right back where I started.
What finally worked wasn’t taking foods away, it was adding healthier options first.
Here are some potential ideas:
Add a serving of vegetables
Add a protein shake as a snack
Add a bottle of water to your day
Take a short walk around the block after eating
When you consistently add things that fuel your body, there’s simply less room for foods that don’t. You don’t have to rely on willpower quite as much because your habits begin to change on their own.
That’s a subtle but powerful mindset shift.
This week, don’t focus on what you need to eliminate. Pick one thing you can add. Small changes, repeated consistently, lead to big results over time.
Remember… Hardest Part: Start™️.
