Stop Starting Over

This week, I want to talk about something that still happens to me.

I used to think if I missed a workout, had a bad weekend, or ate a few meals that weren’t part of the plan, I’d “fallen off.” So I’d tell myself, “I’ll start again on Monday.”

The problem was… Monday kept moving.

What’s funny is that even after more than three years of building healthier routines, I’m still not perfect.

Just a few weeks ago, my wife and I had a long day at work. We were tired, didn’t feel like cooking, and ended up grabbing Whataburger for dinner.

The next day, I regretted that decision.

But instead of thinking, “Well, I already messed up,” I reminded myself of something that’s taken me years to learn…

That one meal doesn’t erase thousands of better decisions I’ve made over the last three years.

It happens.

I didn’t need to start over. I just needed to keep going.

One missed workout doesn’t erase the workouts you’ve already completed.

One unhealthy meal doesn’t erase all the healthy ones you’ve eaten.

One bad day doesn’t erase your progress.

The people who are successful aren’t successful because they’re perfect. They’re successful because they don’t let one mistake turn into a week, a month, or even a year.

Life is going to happen.

You’ll have vacations, birthdays, late nights, stressful weeks, and days where you simply don’t feel like working out.

That’s normal.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is getting back to your routine as quickly as you can.

If you miss today, make tomorrow count.

If lunch wasn’t great, make dinner a better choice.

If this week didn’t go as planned, don’t wait for Monday. Start with your very next decision.

Progress isn’t built by never getting off track.

It’s built by getting back on track.

Remember…

Hardest Part: Start™️
