You Don’t Need The Perfect Workout

There were so many days I skipped working out because I didn’t have enough time.
If I couldn’t get in a full hour OR MORE… I’d tell myself I’d get it in tomorrow. Then tomorrow became next week. Then next week became month without going…
I used to believe every workout had to be perfect. If I couldn’t do the workout exactly how I planned, I’d convince myself it wasn’t worth doing at all.
Looking back, I set myself up to give myself off ramps or the ability to back out.
Now I know, the mindset I had was holding me back more than anything else.
One of the biggest shifts I ever made was realizing the perfect workout doesn’t exist. The time needed to get a work in wasn’t as much time as I thought. Self-accountability is key and knowing that it may not be a workout I want to do in the moment but most likely, I’d be happier after getting it in.
Some days you’ll have an hour to train. Other days you might only have 15 minutes. Some days all you can manage is a walk around the neighborhood.
And you know what? It all counts.
Movement isn’t all-or-nothing. Every step, every rep, and every workout is another vote for the person you’re trying to become.
I’ve learned that consistency isn’t built by having perfect workouts. It’s built by showing up, even when your workout looks different than you planned.
So this week, if life gets busy, don’t convince yourself you need to skip your workout because you can’t do everything.
Do something.
Take a walk.
Do a few bodyweight exercises.
Stretch for 10 minutes.
Because the workout you actually do will always be better than the perfect workout that never happens.
The perfect workout doesn’t change your life.
The workout you keep coming back to, does.
Have a great week!
Remember…
Hardest Part: Start ™️
